City of Liberty to Celebrate 11th Annual Juneteenth

The program headliner will be a Jazz concert by the Liberty Jazz Ensemble beginning at 4:30 p.m. In addition, there will be performances by Les Washington of Kansas City, Don Thigpen & the Winnwood Praise Band, the First Baptist Instrumental Youth Ensemble among others.

William Jewell to co-sponsor panel on blacks, Republicans and race

William Jewell College and Clay County African-American Legacy Inc. will co-sponsor a panel discussion on “Blacks, Republicans and Race” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25 in John Gano Memorial Chapel on the college campus in Liberty, Mo.
